People:Myself and the girlfriend

Duration:21.00 - 14.00

Tide:All states

Weather:Blowing a gale,dull,rain,cold,thought it was November.

Bait:Peeler,Rag,Sandeel,Mackerel

Rigs:2 hook pats,1 up and down.

Results:1 flounder,1 small pup smoothie and his big brother at 8lb.

Catch and Release:: Yes/No yes

Report:Got down there last night but was unfishable due to the high wind,the waves were 10/15 ft high and the wind was unreal,so we didn't actually start until 5 am this morning.Conditions had slightly improved by then so we headed for the rocks.Was hoping for some bass as there was a good surf going but nothing showed.Bites were far and few between and just when I was drifting off into a dream about a bass showing in the surf I got hit by an almighty bite ,I struck and the line peeled off the reel and the smoothie headed out to sea,great fight,best I've had in ages off a fish and made up in some way for the long session with few bites.
Entries now open for the All Ireland Shore Cod Championships on November 29th hosted by Sea Angling Ireland SAC
