ok i can cast with this reel with mags off (4 fitted ) it also has two brake blocks (small) if a man wanted extra few yards do i remove blocks or a few magnets ? also was wondering when casting do the blocks brake more at the beginning of the cast therefore losing distance :?:

go with the blocks.....if you start messing with the mags(like i did!) then you will most likeley get birdy after birdy(like i did!).

there should be no problem when you remove the blocks , it will definatley give you more distance , 4 magnets should be plenty as long as the cast is somewhat smooth you should be allright , try it .

Use all my abus with no blocks... for general conditions etc I always have the mags on 2......... Blustery etc... 4 or 5 . never any higher unless there's a gale in my face.

No problems so far.

totally agree, on any of my reels that are magged i leave out the blocks and just use the one braking system.
