I checked Redbarn, and around that area, it was FULL of weed, also the beach near Ferrypoint - begins with a C. that was loaded too.
The carpark where i took that pic from was loaded with rock, stones sand etc, but Youghal beach itself looked clean.
I was going to try Garryvoe this evening but might hit Ringaskiddy instead.
Made a visit to Inch beach this evening
Set up in the dark peeler and razor last thing to do was to get a bucket of water to wash hands and try and keep everything clean
Boy was I in for a surprise I could hear the surf while setting up there was still two hours to high tide
Here in front of me was a mountain of kelp over one meter in height in places and four to five meters in depth along the whole length of the beach
Moved to the pier in Aghada and promptly broke a rod when the wind caught the van door
a few casts in Garryvoe last night coming up to high tide in a windy conditions.
first at the hotel beach fishing from the footpath so I was high up and out over any weed that might be in close. Picked up a little bit of weed on the grip lead close to the shoreline when I was reeling in but no weed outside. 1 dogfish caught
had one cast at Ballywilling again fished up high at the top of the slip. Left the bait out for about 15 minutes no bites and no weed.
Back there again Thursday night for a comp so I'll update again Friday
