Floatation Suit...petrol handwarmer and an oven tray with some easy lighting charcoal.

Ive started using the shake to activate hand warmers, brilliant job lasted more than 5 hours last time we where out, and cheap as chips!!!

Also cant beat the floatation suit with a good set of long johns....... Toastie!!

A wee fire with the biscuit tin sounds good!!

hi all i got the windlock hat by sundridge from veals . there a great job. waterproof and is contured for ear warmth. :mrgree.n:worth every penny.

brian the best thing you can do to keep warm is catch fish, if ya try more real fishing and less BROKEBACK FISHING you should be fine :lol: :lol:

brian set up 2 rods 300m apart and you will be so busy running between them that you wont feel the cold :lol:
I seen a lad using a shopping basket with a few briquettes in it for a fire,thought it was a great idea

or if your on your own put on a pair of chest waders and pee in them LOL :lol: :D

My tip would be if you have a long walk to your fishing spot dont put all your layers on until you have finished the walk. If you do ya sweat like mad then the sweat cools down and you nearly freeze to death!

my tip is dont ride for an hour in the cold on a motorbike as you'll be cold before you arrive no matter what you wear. then standing around all day in the cold then the ride back.....
it how i ended up with hypothermia.

but you dont know cold till you've riden a motorbike in the snow!

If your feeling the cold you should avoid alcohol and caffeine. Both of these have detrimental effects on you, reducing your blood flow.

Preventiion is better than cure, 2 light layers is warmer than 1 thick layer as trapped air is one of the best insulators

The new hotrox hand wamer looks goog but you have to charge it each time.. I got a zippo hand wamer the other day lasts for over 12 hours i got it in the outdoorstore 25e best thing iv bought in a long time :wink:
