Advice Please

Hello again,
OK, Just got my first rod and reel and was wondering if what i bought is ok.
The rod is an Emerald Pier-Beach 270, 150-200gr.

The reel is a Okuma Impact im50. 10lbs - 320yrd
12 lbs- 240yrd
15 lbs- 180yrd

Like I said in a previous post, ill more than likely be fishing from Howth.
So will my Rod and Reel do the job. Thanks for the help :D

it will do ya grand. remember the fish dont know how expensive or not ur gear may b. the key is to put ur bait over fish. one thing to remember is to make sure u dont use to much lead for the rod ie. 150gr. and also to use a shock leader, the rule of thumb is to use 10lb breaking strain per ounce of lead. ie. a 5 ounce lead needs a 50lb shockleader

Theres an online club I've heard about......these guys are supposed to know their stuff :wink:

id say complete the form on the site and give them a ring on thursday or friday night to make sure it went through properly
