Report: Hi all ,
First time poster, long time lurker so hpoe this works out. Myself and my brother decided to take a long overdue fishing trip and headed off to Doonbeg. Arrived about five and dug some Lug on a nearby beach. We started fishing for mack and caught six in the first half hour.
Then we moved a few hundred yards down the coast to a little rocky bay to try for wrasse. On our first drop we each had a triggerfish, then another and another. The place was alive with them and we caught about twenty between us. Then we got a few wrasse Sean two, me one 2 to 3 lbs. Before it got dark we put on lures and tried for a pollack. Sean got very excited because he could see the fish breaking surface and following his lure. Then he caught a nice one about 4lbs. Shortly afterwards my line tightened up and I had my first Pollock. Then Sean caught another one and we called it a night.
Next day we returned at midday and the triggerfish gave us a warm welcome. They became a bit of a pest robbing our bait as we tried for conger. Sean caught his first conger after an hour, a nice fish about 4 lbs. We had to pack up then to head for home but one thing is certain...we'll be back very soon
