casting competitions

#1 Post by fogelberg »

What can you tell me about this? im sorry if the post doesnt belong here, but i didnt find a better spot to put it...

I have a friend that want to begin casting.

Do you have any links to a site that tells him all about regulations and other good to know thing?

A standard surfcasting rod and reel should be enough for beginners i guess, but what type of weight is allowed?
Entries now open for the All Ireland Shore Cod Championships on November 29th hosted by Sea Angling Ireland SAC

Hi Fogelberg,
Did a bit of competition casting ten years or so back.
For some info on rules and tips try the following.

http://neilmackellow.sea-angler.org/index.htm.
Hope this helps.
