People: me fein

Duration: 20:00 to 23:00

Tide: low tide 20:15

Weather: humid, overcast , no wind

Bait: frozen, mack squid sandeel

Rigs: pulley, single hook pat, silver spinner

Results: few mack, crabs :(

Catch and Release:: No

Report: more a reccy than anything else - had heard about a deep channel down this way - so went for a look when the tide was out

threw a few baits out - crabs - thought i had 1-2 bites but no connect

the mack were chasing the sprats - so said why not for a bit of bait

channel is deep and not snaggy in the spot i was into - will definitely be back - with a stronger running and higher tide

was so dead and humid even in darkness was perspiring

Talk to Peter Atkins in the Galway City SAC as he knows the area well and he and I have often talked about a tope mark in the area...
Kieran Hanrahan

Time spent fishing is never time wasted...

2015 targets - a triggerfish, a specimen bass, a three bearded rockling to complete the set and something big and toothy from certain north Mayo deep water marks

i think i know the area you're on about.... not 100% though, wouldn't mind giving it a bash if anyone is interested; right time of year for it too if i'm not mistaken :D
