Courtown & Ballymoney 9th & 10th June

#1 Post by FintanMorrisson »

People: myself + 1 sunshine fisherman

Duration: 2-3 hours each sesison

Tide: Low tide

Weather: clear calm and warm

Bait: mackerel, squid

Rigs: One up one down, pennel

Results: Courtown: 4 dogs, 3 pup tope, 1 dab, 1 tiny codling. Ballymoney: 4 pup tope, 1 dab

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report: Fished Courtown beach Saturday evening & Ballymoney in the blistering sun from midday on the Sunday. Had a reluctant fishing partner in tow who was more interested in working on his tan then catching fish! (worse then a woman). The knock on effect of this was that I couldn’t fish a) when I wanted & b) where I wanted!
Had my usual results – dogs & small stuff… got a double of nice sized dogs at the end of the session on Saturday, thought it might have been a nice smoothie but not to be… Cracking weather tho, really can’t complain.
Entries now open for the All Ireland Shore Cod Championships on November 29th hosted by Sea Angling Ireland SAC
