People:Me and a mate

Duration:8pm till midnight

Tide:high at 10.35pm

Weather:nice, very calm water

Bait:sandeel, mack, squid

Rigs:2 hook clipdown, running ledger

Results:1 3 bearded rockling

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report:Took a run down to Strangford last night in the hope of a few fish. A few people were fishing when we arrived and none of them had caught anything. We set up anyway and the others all left by 9.30, so it leftjust the 2 of us. Fished the back of the docked ferry, the front of it and even got onto it and fished towards the island and not even a nibble. decided to pack up and go hame, thats when the rockling was landed, i thought it was a small bit of weed. So not a good night. The whole week has been bad for me. Firstly i have fished Greys point 3 times with most baits on 3 days/evenings and a small pier i know one day and caught naff all, apart from a couple of starfish at the point. But i am stiil happy and cant wait to get back out,, its sad isn't it? cheers

Been fishing at the first old wartime spotlight out at distance and in close under my feet in all directions. Its a handy spot, but maybe i will need to move on round the coast a bit. It does look like an excellent place.

only fished that spot a few times late last summer but it fished well for me. i caught loads of doggies at distance, got pestered with whiting and caught a couple of flatties. caught plenty of mackerel spinning as well.
