I had to order another load and he delivered this morning....

Nothing like making your own float and saving a few quid now and again.. I make mine from my kids used drinks bottles, just lash a swivel to them and away you go, they come in all colours too.

I've moved this thread in here.

This could be interesting, any more? I believe coca-cola bottles were popular recently on the South Coast of England for Smuts.

A method for Garfish is to take a small plastic juice bottle, punch a small hole in the bottom, thread some 50lb line through and out of the neck, tie a plain lead to the line...pull the line back and jam the lead tight into the bottle (makes it air tight)......tie a couple of long snoods (10" to 20") off the 50lb line (each with a small split shot to keep it hanging down) put a swivel at the back end of the 50lb and attach to your main line...yer in business!

The lead helps you get a good distance and keeps the aerodynamics well, wind back at a steady pace, Gars and Macks will hit you, if they're about.

I hope you can follow this :?

You can fill them with candle wax to give it extra weight

the guy who first told me about Jif lemon bottles also used a golf ball as a weight for spinning around rocks, said it was easier to free out of snags.

I use jif lemon floats for rock fishing. A hangover from my lough fishing for trout in my youth. They work a treat and are very hi-vis!
