What casts are allowed?

#1 Post by fishinmidget »

Hi all, as i hope to be joining the casting club and taking part in some events i was wondering what restrictions there are in regards to style of casting. its just that i was using a sort of aerialiesd otg and hit a pb of 155 yards or 142 meters(which i am very proud of) but i am concerned of whether or not i would be able to use it in a casting meet?

In our rules it states:
METHODS OF CASTING - All Surfcasting shall be executed with both hands. In making a cast it shall not be permitted to use a power stroke of more than 360 degrees or any cast that in the opinion of the Committee is deemed dangerous.
And thats about it, so OTG, Pendulum, aerialiesd otg, brighton cast, Hatteras Cast, south african styles, etc,,, are all aceptable as long as the rule above is adheared to and it looks safe.
hope this helps..

Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.
