any1 know what this is? im gettin confused with species i think

looks like a short spined sea scorpion to me
species '09 - (42)

specimens 09 - twait shad 1.22kg , 3 beard rockling 2lb 6oz , whiting 3lb .

It could be a long spinned sea scorpion.What size was it? if it was longer than 6 inches then its a short spinned but if it was smaller then it could be either.

wasnt bigger than 6 inches anyway... bout <--------------------------------------------> that much :wink:

Are we still on the same subject :lol: :wink:
In the photo it looks like it has quite long spines,that along with its size would suggest it was a long spinned sea scorpion not a short spinned but without actually seeing it i wouldn`t like to say for def.Next time you catch one have a look under its head there will be a fold of skin running from gill to gill if its a short spinned,also the long spinned has one noticably long spine on each cheek hence its name.hope this helps :)

looks like a long spined sea scorpion ,judging by the length of the spines on the side of the head .
