I caught my first ever Weaver from a West Cork beach today on a scratching rig baited with mack strip. It was one of 10 fish myself and Pete McG had, including Pollack, Coalies and Flounder.

Heres a double figure Ling caught by me on our recent SAI foray from Courtmacsherry...... It tipped the scales around 11lbs and was pipped by a half pound by a fine coalie from Kev.

Its a damn site easier pulling in fish from the shore in January than it is on the boat, ask any of the lads that were on the Courtmac trip. 9 species for me for January, only one directly attributable to boat trip. Be a different story come the summer time though... :D
