Ballintoy Co. Antrim

#1 Post by Ronald »

People:Myself and Helen

Duration:4hrs

Tide:fished approx 2 hrs either side of high water

Weather: sw wind ,cloudy

Bait:lug worm and squid

Rigs:2 hooked clipped down and 3 hook flapper

Results:dab ,turbot and flounder

Catch and Release::

Report:Headed up to the rocks at ballintoy today just to kill a few hours and give the other half some casting practise ,conditions were pretty good with a swell running across the front of the rock platforms so nothing to dodgy ,though the odd wave came up through the blow hole .
helen managed the first fish with a nice wee flounder about 1/2lb on straight lug ,then about 15mins later i hauled in a massive dab about 2oz

:oops: much to helens amusement .
It was another hour or so before helens rod tip took a couple of good knocks ,this time she managed a turbot about 1/4lb .
A good enough session i suppose ,though i got my ass kicked by the other half . got my revenge though when i forgot to tell her to look out for a biggish wave coming through the blowhole :lol:
