Caught 2 bass on each of 2 evenings running at high tide two weeks back. Using casting shads - they are great to use and hard to loose :D
Fish were in the 3 to 4 lbs. range. Saw other anglers fishing same locations during the day-time, with little success. My experince is that nightfall is best for bass. Never tried dawn.
Any how went back last week on low tides at night fall. There were no bass and no sand - the wind and tide of this inclement September had taken it all away !

Went out Thursday late evening HT with squid on the big sandy beach. Ideal conditions. Blanked.
My mate Micky fished nearby with lug. He blanked too.
Intended to return last night and / or this evening. Sea conditions v. bad.
