Rock mark between Ballyhornan and Ardglass, Co Down, 15/9/06

#1 Post by FMCN »

People: me

Duration: 18.45-21-15

Tide: high at 17.30

Weather: still calm evening

Bait: frozen sandeel, mack and fresh king rag

Rigs: deep trolling and 2 hook paternoster

Results: 10 pollack to over 3 lb, 1 mack

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report: Tried a new mark i had found on a previous scouting trip with very deep water at your feet. Only took 1 packet of frozen sandeel and had just about a fish a cast. Three or four largest over 3 lb but bigger there. Playing one of these bigger fish i could see a much larger fish swimming alongside right to the surface. Continued catching well into darkness. Had a rod out out on the bottom to see what else might be about, just the one small pollack on this.

Sounds like a good mark. Where is it as access to deep water can be tricky sometimes?
