Carnlough Beach Co Antrim - 17 Sept

#1 Post by glengormley-gavin »

People: Me & spgavin

Duration: 1900 - 2300

Tide: HT 19.40

Weather: Calm and warm

Bait: Rag, mack and squid

Rigs: 1 hook clip down, flappers and boom rigs

Results: 7 Dogs, 2 Coalies, 1 y-ting and 1 codling

Catch and Release:: Yes/No - Yes but 1 coalie did not survive - he was hooked far too deep

Report:
We decided to try Carnlough because we haven't fished it for ages.

It was a good night with the dogs keeping us busy.

The species count wasn't bad for a beach venue but I was disappointed not to see any flatties.

There was a severe amount of weed on the beach towards the end of the session which forced up to pack up early :( :(

I met a few other guys who use the forum - nice to meet you and I hope you are a bit more successful on your next trip.

Jude

there are definately plenty off the old doggies weighin in up the coast. they have a good habit of turning a slow night into a hectic one.
