Was fishing last night had 15 pollack all on the fly only had an hours fishing. On my first cast i spooked a load of sprats and the pollack went mental all jumping out of the water in front of me. The biggest pollack landed was around 4lbs but i was broken by a big fish, i was using a 15lb leader and me right into the backing. I was using a home made fly. Tried a popper the fish went for it but kept missing very exciting though. No pictures as i forgot the camera and was to dark to use my phone.

well done lad. i'd be more inclined to use at least a 20lb leader. pollock arn't very leader shy and it enables you to bully the fish a bit more.

I was fishing in a place called ballynahowan about 8 miles past spiddal into a gully. there is a little pier there and I walked out onto the rocks. found a better spot to fish was able to get a few mackeral out yesterday same area. lots of wrasse and other species there as well.
