I havent fished there lately but your heading to one of the most beautiful parts of the country. I was down there with the missus last year I think it was on a scorching hot day in July. We went for a walk on the beach and looking at the sea, as the swell of each wave came along giving you a side view into it you could see hundreds and hundreds of fish.....amazing sight, this was only about 15 yards out. I waded out to try and get a proper look at them and they appeared to be schoolies. Needless to say though, when I went down later that night with the rod I caught nothing....! Amazing sight all the same. Not that that helps or anything though... :)

ya it is a lovely spot- been there numerous times. Would love to fish the beaches down there but this time of the year that is a no go so I will stick to the rock marks.

nige, is it a no go because of the amount of drunken young corkonians around ?

Was hoping to give it a go myself in late august.
