Report:
Discovered Howth is only 20 mins from my new job so headed down for a few hours after work.
Fished the back of the pier with the lighthouse. Started with lures: German sprat/Toby/Leadhead + jellyworm with no joy. Tide was fully out + no sign of life.
Both of us switched over to small sabiki rigs & as the tide started to rise began catching the Mackeral.
There seemed to be a small shoal moving left to right in front of us.
Picked up the odd Pollock at the end of the retrieve too.
Changed to really small sabikis that I got off ebay (prob size 10!) & started catching little Codling & Whiting.
We only kept 5 Mackeral between us - one of which thanked me by shooting projectile crap the length of my leg - nice..
The rest were shaken off the hooks back into the sea.
So sporadic action & fish not really there in any numbers but a nice way to spend a few hours (when not being crapped on)
