Strangford Lough - 17/12/2024

#1 Post by Daryl »

One of my favorite places to fish is Strangford lough particularly at night.

This evening the tide was very high and the visibility wasn't great in the water due to the high winds churning things up.

Was fishing with my light setup using a Carolina rig with a small hook (not sure on size possibly 10) and an ecogear grub. I was also trying out an eely shad which I was surprised worked really well even in poor visibility.

Just the 2 species caught that evening; pollock (can always rely on them showing up) and a new one for me was this red sea scorpion! Very cool fish and was very excited to see come up out of the water. (caught on the Carolina rig dropped down to the bottom).
