Greystones Beach 09.07.2021

#1 Post by Gonzo »

When: 09/07/2021
Where: Greystones Beach
Who: Myself & A Friend
Duration: 20:00-00:00
High Water: 000:24
Equipment: 13ft bass rod, 15ft surf rod & 11ft feathering rod
My Bait: Peeler Crab, Squid & Feathers
Conditions: Overcast
Result: 5 Dogfish

Met with a friend from college to fish off the beach in Greystones, when we got to the mark we could see sea trout jumping straight away. Set one rod up with peeler and the other a full squid then tried feathering for mackerel while waiting for bites. It wasn't long before we got our first bite on the peeler crab but sadly it came off on the retrieve. It was quiet until it started getting dark when we became inundated with dogfish, especially on the squid. The weed picked up pretty badly as the night went on and I lost 2 rigs to snags before we called it quits. So we finished up with 5 dark dogfish in the end.
