I have been watching this one with interest. Any reports along the east coast yet? Or is it still a bit early?

Probably a little bit early, not even catching many on the boats atm, only 2 mackerel caught out of 6 boats last Sunday

Several locals reporting good catches of decent sized macks off the North Mayo cliffs and rock marks in recent days. Nasty onshore North winds tho, so extreme caution advised.

I spent a couple of hours in Clogherhead on Wednesday. No sign of mackerel or, for that matter, sprats. I caught a 3-inch Gurnard and a few 2-inch whiting so at least I didn't blank!
