Was fishing beside Blue Pool (Doonbeg, Co Clare) last Sat before the rain from 12-3pm with full water around 5pm.
Got only 7 mackerel, 5 big ones came at the same time, this was difficult to lift up. Also small pollock came of a mackerel strip as a bonus.

Few been caught in the uk,fella here had one in January, was warmer in jan tho.

I caught a rogue mackerel from Currabiny pier in Cork harbour one January- he was very skinny looking, probably post spawn
