Today: stopped off at No 6. buoy on the way out and had 4 drifts. 3 mackerel, 4 herring and a plenty of launce. Enough bait for the day. 8)
Headed out to deeper water and had a set of bulls eyes hanging out over the side of the boat all day. Only hit 1 shoal of mackerel about a mile south of the Smiths 5 mackerel on one drop and they were gone. :x
Stopped off at No. 6 again on the way back, Wind against tide and the mackerel were up on top of the bank   . No comfort in fishing in a 4' swell but stuck it out and had about 4 dozen pan size mackerel and a lone herring.

Loads of mackerel on outside of Helvick Head in mid-water on Friday & Saturday. We caught enough for a day's shark fishing in 10 mins.
