Sligo- Streedagh and Aughris Head

#1 Post by Big Bear »

Fished last Thursday and Friday with the father float fished ragworm hoping for wrasse and a bit of lure fishing for pollock..

Friday- Streedagh
Fished the point by the small bay and moved to a hole on the causeway. Managed to dodge the rain lost two pollock on a lemon back sg sandeel. Had 3 Balkan wrasse and 1 corkwinf between us. Lost a couple of better fish close in.

Friday- aughris head/pollanadiva pier

Wasn't planning on fishing the day but had ragworm left over so we went in search of different marks. Finished with 2 corkwing and 2 Balkan wrasse between us from the piers only. Didn't give the rocks much of a go as the swell was big enough on the rising tide. The father lost another brute not sure if it was a pollock or a Ballan wrasse.probably the latter. Couple of spots to try again when the weather is suiting. Belter of a mullet cruised by under our feet at the pier.would love to try the marks on an evening rising tide.
Entries now open for the All Ireland Shore Cod Championships on November 29th hosted by Sea Angling Ireland SAC
