Hi,
I'm starting to make my own rigs and I started wondering. Should I use clip on main line and swivel on rig or vice versa.

Re: Swivel or clip on main line
Makes no difference at all but most would attach the clip to the shock leader

Re: Swivel or clip on main line
Clip to shock leader seems to be the norm.
I use the Gemini genie link clip attached to the shock leaded. A lot of copies of these clips appearing in the tackle shops some are piss poor quality, the metal in some are too soft and open out in others the eye is not closed fully and snoods get tangled inside it.
Great clip for changing rigs when the fingers are frozen cold.
If you decide to use a swivel clip avoid using the American snap swivel heard of these slipping open when put under strain.

Aye clip on the main line. Then assortment of attachments on traces depending on what type. Agree no american snaps, seen how they would bend out when practice casting years ago. Never used them since.
