Total beginner here. Myself and a friend are planning a trip to the Dingle peninsula at the end of July. I've looked at a few different sites for shore marks but many haven't been updated in 10+ years so decided I'd ask here for more recent updates
Preferably we'd like to fish for a few mackerel from a pier or rocks, just so long as its not a dodgy spot in terms of getting washed away. We're open to fishing for other (really, any) species, just heard that mackerel are handy enough for beginners to learn the ropes.
Any advice on locations, rigs, baits,best times to fish (morning/evening/high tide/low tide) or any other tip you can think of would be greatly appreciated. Don't assume any bit of info you can give is too trivial
I have a 12ft telescopic fladen chieftain beach rod with a large okuma Argo L7000 spinning reel so I don't think I need to worry too much about snapping my rod on too big a fish, but then again, what do I know eh? NOTHING
