Hi all
Just wanted to know what types of leads you lads use for rough ground to lessen the chances of getting snagged. I know that if I cast onto a huge rocky kelp bed then I won't have a chance but perhaps there are leads that are easier to retrieve? I've got lead lifts too if they help. At the moment I have plain bombs, pyramid leads, impact leads and flattie leads. Which leads would suit the terrain? I'll be using rotten bottoms too.
Thanks a lot

Old spark plugs can be very hand over very rough ground as are nuts and bolts...you can add extra nuts as you need to.

Re: Types of leads for rough ground fishing
Grip leads are the best for the rough as the wires minimise the chance of the lead falling in between rocks.

Thanks for the advice lads. What do you think of the lead lifts? Any use?

Sounds interesting... In south Africa, they make their grip leads fixed with plastic instead of wires. These help stop the leads falling onto small holes and flex enough to pull your led free. never seen anything like it in Ireland.rushnaldo wrote:Seen a fella using a bag of rubbery tubing filled with sand it pulled out of every snag

Re: Types of leads for rough ground fishing
Lead lifts work great ,all I do is get an old plastic tub ,the rubbery type ,cut out kite shapes fold them a bit down the middle and put a hole either end then just thread em on above the lead
