It's out on the point on the map I posted, to get near to it on a cast you need to fish the bottom of the tide on the big springs

Hi Donal,
Heading down to Kerry for a few days in a few weeks after my wedding, wont get a huge amount of fishing in apart from Inch...cause i'm staying in one of the cottages,I have a lend of the father in laws jeep. How safe is it to drive on the sand? Did you take the entrance about half way down the beach? Walked it a few years ago in a gale and was absolutely wrecked  Depending on winds I could end up on the SPA though.

Does/has anyone had them from the shore off the end of Inch? Have had them from the boat within 3-400m of the end of inch beach and the channel there runs close in and should be castable. Hell of a tide rip there but over slack water at low tide it shouldnt be too bad.

Awlays wondered if anyone had success there from the shore. Or even from the other side of the channel. Always have done miserably badly myself from Derrymore. Seems cursed for me.

Yes horses for courses I suppose. There is a spot we fish at a river mouth near enough to derrymore. We fish lure and fly. My father has had about 7 bass to 9lbs, mullet to 6lbs and sea trout from it. Probably he has had 15 fish there in about 8 sessions. I have never had a fish off it in about 6 attempts and have given up and now hate the place.

On the flip side we were out trouting over the weekend. I had 8 he had zero. Fishing the same area, same method.

Tried Derrymore last week, a solitary Dogfish was all that was caught. Choppy water on a neap and wind from the NW.

That car was left at low tide apparently people that owned it went off walking in the area came back and the tide had come in around it.
