Shore tope rig

#1 Post by jonnymed1c »

Hi lads, gona try and target shore tope while Im back after hounds in Wicklow and Wexford this summer. Especially after my bite off on Courtown last year.

Whats the best rig to use? I fish with braid straight through normally. Will I need to change to mono?

I have tried Pulley rigs before with heavy rig body and wire snood, was able to cast decent distance.

People saying they have had alot of missed runs with pulleys though.

I would appreciate any advice
Regards Jonny

i am far from being an expert having lost most of the fish i have hooked over the last couple of years but wire trace on a 80lb pulley and 20lb reel line .still on a learning curve so each run is a new experience have tried a a few different rigs and leaders and have settled for the pullies .fresh bait and putting in the hours for that run will be worth the wait.. best of luck

I have tied up a version of above rig but used stronger mono and a wire biting trace.
