Light line multiplier

Hi folks just wondering has anybody here used any of the high quality low diameter braid on a multiplier. I was hoping to use .22 diameter or am I asking for trouble?

I've been fishing braid for years using a multi and have dispelled that myth a long time a go. Once you get your casting fine tuned there is no problem with distance.

So a few questions first, type of venue, species you intend to target sea conditions

Edit: I fish 30 braid, think it's 0.3mm and 0.26mm

I generally fish clean beach for bass, smoothies, cod etc. Im reasonably good with a multi and use 7ht mags and 6500 mag elites so control is decent. I thought perhaps some of the low diameter monos around .25mm might add distance. A lot of them hugh quality lines are very smooth and well finished which might prevent tangles

One of the things you have to watch is weed on the line, it can pull your line down on to the shoreline where it can easily be damaged.

personally wouldn't go below 0.28mm dia. with mono or braid on a standard size multiplier- u will spend more time messing around instead of fishing and probably have to slow your reel down and loose distance anyway. i cant see the point. sand on braid can burn your thumb retrieving on shallow sandy beaches too. braid in a surf makes watching the tip painfull. on a fixed spool in calm seas it is nice to fish with.

Yes i do but to be honest ive gone over to ultima powersteel on alot of my reels instead it a lot less stretchy than most mono and not as prone to wear .
Braid can wear through very quickly if your fishing over sandbanks .i use 30 lb braid on a sports mag for some of my bass fishing i found anything thinner was prone to digging in .
