Duncannon Wexford
Thinking of heading down here for a quick sesh - any advice on tides and locations? I have crab, a bit of mack, and a few lug on me if that helps. Want to get a dab or flounder, haven't caught one yet.

Re: Duncannon Wexford
Sound lad. I'm looking for any of the two. What tide at the pier? Does it have to be at night?corbyeire wrote:if its flounder try the beach after hw down - dabs more likely off the pier

Re: Duncannon Wexford
We were catchin plenty of flounder off that pier too corbyeire
Reckon that you will catch the flatties of that pier any time of day, hard to gauge when they'll be about for sure. If the tide is running too fast at the front of the pier then cast out to the right into the sheltered bay.
Heard that below the fort, on the beach and along the edge of the channel, and casting into the channel, can be good too. But haven't tried it.
That beach has a pretty big tidal range - you will be running after the water as the tide drops, and vice versa. Should be worth a shot though.

Re: Duncannon Wexford
For sure you can go down to the pier and catch flounder - but plenty of times you wont
I would be 90% sure youd get them everytime down on the beach, especially after darkness
