Rod conversion!!

#1 Post by cormyb »

Looking for a bit of advice. I got an 2nd hand century Kompressor of a buddy on the cheap and I'm looking to change the rings for a fixed spool reel. I'm looking to order some fuji k guides but am not sure of the sizes and amount I will need.
I have read some advice from some sites but seem to be getting alot of conflicting opions.
Does anybody have experience of this type of conversion.
Also was looking to get a tip eye with night light seat that I saw on uk-hooks. What size tip ring is best??
Any advice would be welcome. Have 10 days left on a prision ship in the north sea before I'm home so looking to order before I get back!!
Cheers

Normally 8 guides you will need for fixed spool if was me id use something like kguides as they stick out from the blank a bit more than your average guides better for fixed spool

The guide sizes you will need are 40 30 25 20 16 12 12 and a 12 tip with 4 mm bore you will have to get your guides on line from a proper rod building supplyer.
