Re: Wexford cod
Wexford Harbour near the Ballast, with crab (obviously) on a rough ground rig. Suggest one hook only. Easy parking, lit, and if they are in, they are in... probably a bit early for them?

Re: Wexford cod
I've never fished that spot is it really snaggy? Usually I'd fish a pulley pennel hopefully that'll do the trick.

Re: Wexford cod
I caught a lot of small cod off the marina pier in Welford last weekend.caught about 8 in a little over an hour but nothing very big. They were taking like mackerel on both live crab and rag. I didn't find it too snaggy just lost one rig. Conditions were high tide on edge of dark

Re: Wexford cod
Sorry predictive text got the better of me on previous msg. It was the marina pier in wexford town, the L shaped one opposite the ballast bank where the mussel trawlers dock. The codling were taking ragworm and live crab but the way they were taking I would say that they werent too fussy anyway. Have fished it again but with similar results. Small codling on rising tide but nothing to get excited about yet

Re: Wexford cod
It's a few years since I fished the quays in Wexford. My best results were February to May or so. Biggest I caught there was about 5 and a half pounds.
