North-West Smoothhound?

Do they exist? I've never even heard of one being caught from my neck of the woods? Would love a bash at them...

Same here Shamrock, Never heard of a Smoothy Further North than Carlingford!

Tell a Lie, Further North Than some rock Mark near Kilkeel, The Guy from Fabb tackle in Newry told me he was getting them.

It would be a minor miracle Shamrock, unless your prepared to travel south you'll not be ticking it of the species list.

Mouth of the Garryvogue at Rosses Point?

I know it may be mad, but I met this english guy once who swore he caught three smooth-hound fishing from the yacht club on a big tide. The guy seemed to know what he was doing had the gear ect.. and had a just caught a shoolie Bass. I assumed he know the difference between a smooth-hound and dogs, huss etc..
So maybe not so daft after all.
