Can someone tell me can haddock be caught from the shore and we're and when never got one never see someone get one

that's cause they don't... haddock spend most of the time in deep water!

Iv caught afew of arklow pier over the years in between the whiting

they used to be common enough around graystones,wicklow area i have had a good few but that was many moons ago i guess it like everything now with over fishing it geting harder to find a decent fish now a days

All good advice....

I've heard reports of them being taken from a deep water mark on Belmullet, on ragworm on a long flowing trace, similar to off a boat, but never seen one except off a boat.

Just checked specimen records, 2010 was a good year relatively, with 8 specimens recorded including a new record by Tony Santry 11.88lbs, generally its Feb/Mar time that these fish turn up, most were taken boat fishing out of Union Hall Co.Cork.

haddock are a very common catch boat fishing off the clare coast in 70 or 80 meters,
last year was the best haddock fishing i've seen there

im sure they could be fished for in winter off the west cork coast but i dont think there
is any boat operating there now

There are a couple of charter boats in Schull Blue Thunder and MV Norvic but not sure when they stop for winter. I will ask and see what the chances of a haddock or two would be.

15 years ago after amassive easterly storm we had over 100 2-3lb haddock off cushendun beach on the antrim coast all on lug sea was solid with them never had one before or since in 300 or so more visits it was on a drk mild nov night

Cool. Indeed, Red Bay (East Antrim coast) used to be a good haddock and cod fishery, amongst other species. Thing of the past now.
I've had a few from a small boat in the bay but they are quite a rare catch. Few, if any,I've seen would be over 1.5lb. Awful state of affairs.
That's the first I've heard of them being caught from the shore.
Try and get one from the shore? I'd forget about it I were you. There r people on this forum that have fished the Irish coast all their lives without ever encountering a haddock. They are a deeper water species..
