youghal harbour 30/09/14

Duration:21.00 till 23.00

Tide:high tide 22.20

Weather:clear and calm

Bait:crab

Rigs:clipped

Results:smooth hound codling dogs

hoping for a cod i headed to a deep water mark inside the harbour lashed out my first cast and while i was prepareing my next trace the rod buckled i thought i had a handy size cod on till i got it into shallow water and to my surprise my headlight lit up a smooth hound :shock: my first hound inside the harbour happy days not a bad size either 74cm next few casts i landed a few small codling biggest was 30cm and a few double dogs to finish the night and also a few ray pics from the last few sessions both of em over 11 lb

Cheers for the report lad, some fine Ray there and the codling can't be too far off now.

Fair play some good fishing and nice fish could the smoothound be a sign of something new down here??
