Re: absolute novice to match fishing
Don't know the beach, but if there's flatties on it then two up one down flounder rig should work, keep your hooks small, size 4 and 2..remember small hooks catch big fish but big hooks miss out on the smaller fish, its all about points, even a undersized fish scores points..

Keep a eye on what is happening around and be prepared to ask questions .
There should be a few flats on the beach with hopefully dogs when it gets dark .
Good luck

Pyramids, watch leads or rolling leads. NOT GRIP leads. Grippers keep you in one spot and you want to try and cover ground and rolling leads will be able to find fish and food holding gulleys. Small gemeni yellow floating beads work well on middle snoods. Good luck!

Re: absolute novice to match fishing
Having a couple of traces on the go (double patting) is a must , don't make baits too big, fish light in the daylight as the water is fairly clear at the moment. Worm baits can be important on this beach so try and have a few in the bait box. If fishing is slow going for a "flounder walk" is a common tactic

Thanks bass dad. Good advice comming from all here. Im guessing flounder walk is simply moving your bait in slowly to fish as much ground as possible. ☺.
