Octopus as bait?

Hey guys,
I got a few octopus off a few fishermen i know. Just wondering are they any good as a shore fishing bait?

I actually had a little soft plastic one in my tackle box.
Slid it onto a jig head cast it out.
Seconds after hitting water boom 4lb pollack.
Thought it was just luck.

3 more casts pollack each time.
Bounced through the weed. [emoji106]

Body same as squid, legs tough as old boots good as a tipping bait for lug, crab ect,
