Irish bass festival

#1 Post by kealan777 »

Hi all, just wondering is there any members on here participating in the bass festival in Waterford this weekend? Ive been holding off fishing all week because on Saturday just gone I caught a 10lber (much to my delight) and am terrified to wet a line again before the competition!! (Last years winner was 9lb). Roll on Friday!

I have entered the competition this year Kealan. Great excuse to get out and fish all weekend, looking forward to it big time!

Not heading down this year, enjoyed it the two years ago. Its going to be a glorious weekend weather wise for a third year running, my advice is stick to fishing at night as it was the only time decent fish were caught the last 2 years. Enjoy, all who is going and tight lines.

Not as well as hoped tom, I had two fish all up.. A 47cm and a 58cm. There was four of us together all weekend and we had 13 between us so cant complain too much, great craic though for sure! How did you go yourself?

Put in serious hours the 2 nights. Blanked the first night but was lucky enough to see Mick land a nice 71cm fish fish that got him 2nd place in the competition from that night. I was afraid i was going to blank again Saturday night but managed 2 fish, one at 54cm and the second at 63cm.

Great weekend and the craic with the lads was mighty as well. I will definitely be entering again next year.
