St Helens Bay

#1 Post by SPUDNICK »

Hi all,
Has anyone ever fished the beach at St Helens Bay Golf Club in Wexford. Heading to that area next week so looking for spots in that area. Planning a bit of bait and lure fishing, any info appreciated.

I'm currently down at St. Helens at the minute. Fishing is very poor. There is no sandeel to be seen, however the terns are gorging themselves 300yrds out.

As for marks, top end of the beach you can lure and bait, with bombardia style fishing popular. Rising evening tides seem the most frequented.

Hi,
Thanks for the info. I'm a bit of a novice, can you explain bombardia style fishing?
Also whats the nearest baitshop to St Helens or should i bring bait from Dublin.
