Bait: Rag, lovely peeler, squid, mack and sandeel

Tide: 4 hours before and two hours after

Weather: T shirt weather. Lovely evening.

Results: Shocking

Fished Kilcoole for a decent stint on Friday. What ensued was the possible the worst night's fishing I've ever had. Had lovely peeler and decent rag, fished a variety of rigs and baits at every distance imaginable, but nothing worked. We had five rods in the water between us and took turns chucking a spinner too.

Despite this, we had a total of only 8 fish between us. A few pin whiting and tiny flatties.

Don't know how it was so bad, it seemed a bit of a crap tide and there was no chop on the water at all so maybe that didn't help. There was also a seal doing the rounds for an hour or two at the start of the session.

Either way, desperately disappointing to not even pick up a doggy. Really disheartening. Ah well.

Hard luck with the poor fishing, maybe there was some Tope patrolling the shoreline!
