Kilmuckridge area

#1 Post by Marco »

Hi Guys,

Fishing a comp on Saturday at Kilmuckridge to which I have to bring my 7yr old. To make this trip interesting for him we will camp out around that area and I would like to take him spinning for Bass on Sunday during the day, only 1 problem ... I haven't a clue where to go down that part of the country. Is there anyone that can put me in the right direction? Don't mind a bit of driving (as long as it not Waterford or Dungarvan cause I still have to make it home to Cavan Sunday evening).

Thanks in advance.

Definitely not my weekend even though all the signs were there for some awesome fishing. Got my arse kicked in the comp, couldn't get into anything bigger than 22cm and smaller. Even my 7 year old son made me look totally stupid by catching his first and second ever smoothie (first 80cm and second 93cm - latter very close to or could easily have been specimen size and for a very long time bigger than anything caught in the competition but about an hour before the end of the comp a 94 and a 97cm were caught). The spinning session early next morning ended up in my first blank of the year and that after knowing how many bass were caught in the same spot 24 hrs earlier when the wind was coming from the South East and not North / North East (I need an excuse) but also here the little man bet me by catching a pollack. Anyway a very enjoyable and expensive trip (couldn't resist on buying a bit of gear / rod). Will see if I can add some pics later am in trouble with pixels at the moment. And finally thank you to everyone for putting us in the right direction for our spinning session.
