Re: broken greys grx-s :(
Not too sure but I think Greys have a warranty that they will replace it free of charge. Maybe someone on here will know better, I bought a second hand Greys Mercury many years ago and the previous owner got the butt section replaced after it snapped free of charge and he said that Greys have a lifetime warranty but im not too sure how accurate this is.. I do know that here in the UK you can get it replaced under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 if the product was not "fit for purpose". If you bought the rod up to 6 years ago it would be resonable to say that the rod would be expected to be still "fit for purpose" and you should get a repair or replacement but the onus is on you to prove the fault was caused during the manufacturing and not through misuse but if you bought it less than 6 months ago then it is recognised by the courts that it is a manufacturing fault and its up to the manufacturer to prove otherwise . Im not as clued up on the Irish law though so maybe have a check on your citizens advice website.
I would be interested to know the outcome regardless.
Good Luck

Y'all know me. Know how I earn a livin'. I'll catch this bird for you, but it ain't gonna be easy. Bad fish. Not like going down the pond chasin' bluegills and tommycods. This shark, swallow you whole. Little shakin', little tenderizin', an' down you go. And we gotta do it quick, that'll bring back your tourists, put all your businesses on a payin' basis. But it's not gonna be pleasant. I value my neck a lot more than three thousand bucks, chief. I'll find him for three, but I'll catch him, and kill him, for ten. But you've gotta make up your minds. If you want to stay alive, then ante up. If you want to play it cheap, be on welfare the whole winter. I don't want no volunteers, I don't want no mates, there's just too many captains on this island. Ten thousand dollars for me by myself. For that you get the head, the tail, the whole damn thing.

cheers julio...to be fair i reckon twas my fault...i was headed west last weekend for a few ray and i went it to the back of the van stupidly for a mark map while the buddy the feckin scut was driving and sure he couldnt resist givng the van an aul wobble throwing me around in the back,i was like micheal flatley and a wasp in a jar at the same time...inevitably standing on one of the rods,my rod... but i didnt spot it till i was winding in my first cast when she snapped bout a foot and a half down from the tip...on further inspection
so id be looking more to purchase a new top end rather than claim factory fault...boo
