Shannon Estuary SAC

#1 Post by Donagh »

I asked a while back about the Shannon Estuary SAC status. I was googling today and found the following:

http://historical-debates.oireachtas.ie ... 30015.html

What do they think dolphins and fish live on other than sprats. I had asked my local fb about this before and they said they'd reply but didn't.

all those SACs were ment to be sorted out years ago, 2000 was the original date for all submissions to europe - but then there were extensions to this - then legal jargon - there were proposed pSAC, then candidate cSAC

but amazingly it could become a proposed candidate pcSAC

long story short not worth the paper they are written on

anywhere an SAC has come up against the vested interests - the project will go ahead

they were a nice idea in the 90s but came to nothing in the end
