Hi, I was hoping to get on a beach today (East coast Dublin to South Wicklow) , but it didnt work out. Instead I spent the day rig making and tidying up the kit.
Anyway, in anticipation of possibly getting out I bought some Frozen Black Lug as fresh Worm bait was not available. I have never used this before and am looking for any tips / hints as to its use etc.
I also have frozen Mac in the freezer since 2012 Is it useless now?
Anyone any advise?

You'll need to whip it on the hook with a lot of fine bait cotton as frozen lug can be quite soft. I find it easier to whip a load together on a needle using loads of cotton/elastic to form a sausage then cut to size as needed and whip on hook or if a big bait is needed I stuff a squid with lug and then attach to a pennel rig makes a great all round big fish bait from shore and boat just puncture the squid to release the juices more.

Re: Frozen Black Lugworm
It is good for cod whiting and dabs. If you are fishing for small fish like whiting use about one third of the worm on each hook and tip it off with a piece of mackerel about the size of your fingernail (this helps keep the worm on the hook). I find that this time of year that you need mackerel , the last time i was out fishing I was using lug and mackerel and i only got fish when there was mackerel with the lug , i then got run out of lug and used mackerel on its own and got fish every bit as quick
If you are after big cod , do what john said above

Its a must in your freezer like mackerel, sandeel & squid. Use about 50mm at a time, hook on one end & twist the wrap, then hook again until you have all on, then a fongernail of mackerel. Works for dabs, whiting & flounder.

Re: Frozen Black Lugworm
get yourself a bait needle. slide your lugworm onto the needle and whip it on with some fine bait elastic then simply cut off in chunks the size of the hook your using. you can then tip it with a small piece of mackerel.

Thanks for the replys, this video is all I could find online, but at the price of them you would wanna be pretty confident of a worthwhile fish.

Re: Frozen Black Lugworm
I fished a match on Saturday night using frozen black lug and mackerel. I used around an inch of lug tipped with a small amount of mackerel. I got 1 flounder, 1 rockling, 1 codling and 24 Whiting all in 3 hours 45 mins. I didn't need any bait elastic but did use a sequin as a bait stop.
