Personal tracking system

#1 Post by Deise boy »

Anyone know the name of the devices that can track you when at out fishing from shore.
By way I mean if something happened you others can find you like a personal location system.

Think there going to be mandatory for boat fishing soon can't put name in it though. ?

Kind regards

Hi Deise,

I got one of these last year for the boat. The Mc Murdo Fast Find PLB. http://www.marinewebstoreireland.com/#/ ... 4535978760. They cost a little, but you cannot put a price on your life. They are very portable, very easy to use and will pinpoint your location by vhf and satalite. You wouldnt even know you were wearing it. They will alert the emergency services instantly should you get into difficulty. All you need to do is pull the top off and press the button.

I should know about smart phones iPhone / android.
I run a repair shop.
They almost never have a 3G signal or even a network when out fishing.

But thanks for reply

No. But here's a bit if advice if you ever get it wet.

Do not try power on it sends a charged through battery and fries the board.

Rice don't work. Some believe it do it don't. The dust from it his hard inside phone and expands.

Never plug in. ! Bang.

Wrap in a towel.
Place hot water bottle on towel and wrap again in another towel.

Place in hot press not radiator.

Leave a person who knows how to open it open it and get the battery out and clean down sensors

Kind regards
