Report: Well, Happy New Year to all you fishy folk out there and as you can see, my plan to get the blank out of the way early has worked perfectly  . In fact, it was the perfect Blank,,with not even a nibble all night to give me hope. I didn't mind too much until midnight came,,,as the plan was to get my first fish of 2014,,,,but as the fireworks exploded all around,,,and the revellers started to make a bit of noise,,,I realised that this could actually end in the dreaded Blank  . The rod tips only moved once during the entire session,,,,and that was when a lump of weed must have done an impression of a fish nibbling at the bait. I quickly struck into the weed and successfully landed a fine lump of it around the 6lb mark  The only good luck I had was that the revellers who strolled down the pier didn't ask me how I was doing  That would have been too much for me in my delicate state of mind  . I didn't get any photos of the Blank,,,but you'll just have to take me at my word  . Speaking of photos,,,,,as I hate reports without photos i.e. Fishface's reports for example,,,,i'm including two photos from the previous night, 30th December. One is of the lifeboat heading out into the dark,,brave men,,,and the other is of a lovely Pouting of 30cms,,,my best from the shore,,,which was so nice that I took out my special fishy teatowel to act as a backdrop  . I noticed afterwards that the image of the pouting had burned itself onto the teatowel and i'm hoping that this teatowel will now become as famous as the Shroud of Turin  I'm hoping that the image of this Pouting will counteract the negativity of last nights blank and bring some good vibes to this report  . Onwards and upwards from here on ,,,,,have a good Year everyone, Dave
